Opoona

The family centred in the middle of this intergalactic RPG might come across as the lovechild of Lego and Humpty Dumpty, but they're still regarded as some of bravest fighters in the universe. Little Opoona is separated from mum, dad, sis and his little bro when their space vacation goes arse over boob and he wakes up alone on the planet Landroll to find he has to earn his keep.

Presumably this game is designed to teach youngsters about the rewards of earning their own money and trying out which career they might be best suited to. As Opoona, you'll find yourself wandering around a Jetson-style metropolis, making friends while he searches for the missing members of his family (his brother Copoona is dressed in pink so you know he's from another planet).

Handily indeed, sir. Wait, what?
Handily indeed, sir. Wait, what?

So far so Harvest Moon, but there's a distinctly laid-back attitude to Opoona so that while there are specific missions, you never feel rushed into action at the expense of casual chats with the locals or going outside to fight a rogue monster or two. Being a descendant of the 'Cosmic Guards', Tizian-born Opoona is built to withstand the dark forces by throwing the orange orb on his head at them (not quite an M-16, but this is a family game after all).

You see, every Tizian has an Energy Bonbon (mmm...bonbons) as part of their anatomy that can be thrown like a baseball in several different ways, including curve balls. The longer you pull back on your stick the more powerful the throw will be upon its release, but if you hold on to your energy too long it'll backfire on you or the monsters will attack. These monster hunts occur only when you go outside into dangerous territory - inside it's as safe as houses and your time is spent looking for students in the chem lab or getting a work license for a variety of jobs.

They seem awfully happy, given that their faces appear to be on fire.
