TMNT (Wii)

Why was 'Pizza Eating Ninjas In Society' rejected?

TMNT (Wii)
It's shocking isn't it? To think a comic spoofing superheroes in the mid 80's would grow into a world-wide marketing phenomenon with cartoons, lunchboxes and even a movie starring Corey Feldman (arghhh!). This level of popularity is still hard to swallow nearly 25 years later, especially as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles experienced a second wave of success from 2003 onwards with a new cartoon.
At one point John 'Face Off' Woo was set to direct the CGI movie that this particular game is based on, but in the end it was made by Kevin Munroe in 2007 with the voices of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chris Evans and Patrick 'make it so' Stewart. The plot of the movie and the game are as one: While Leonardo is off training in Central America, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are left twiddling their thumbs at home in New York, occasionally fighting bad guys after their boring day jobs.
Now that's just showing off.

Raphael especially is upset the police aren't fighting crime well enough, so he dons a Batman-esque costume and fights evil as 'The Nightwatcher'. Shredder is dead but a new foe has risen: the immortal Max Winters and his Foot Clan.
This multi-platform strategy fighting game - apart from the fuzzy 2007 graphics - is actually a helluva lot of fun. You start off on solo missions with Leo in the jungle, Raphael being the Nightwatcher in New York City, Don in the sewers and Mike on the rooftops stuck in his kid's entertainer costume, but after a while you can access all four turtles and switch between them during a game. Each turtle has their own unique weapons (nunchakus, swords, etc), special moves and the ability to climb up walls.
It's supposed to be a white flag for truce. Oh wait, it's not a flag at all.

Your goal is essentially to get across rooftops or sewers and the like without falling to your death. You do this by either jumping gaps with the help of a fellow turtle, running nimbly along walls or using Ralph's nunchakus as rotor blades to glide across with. If you've played a Lara Croft or Prince of Persia game, you'll be very familiar with this style of exploring.
