Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (DS)
Or should it be In-de-hand-a Jones?
It's often easy to think of the DS as like the weird kid in school (well, aside from the fact that it's insanely popular). Similar to the shunned student, it follows its own path instead of doing what everyone else has done. While all the other formats are playing the same Lego Indiana Jones game and simply incorporating their own controls, the DS version is a different game based around the same stories.
So, if you've completed it on Wii, PS3, 360 or whatever, you need not necessarily avoid this game, especially if you want to get in as much Lego action as you possibly can. Admittedly, you would have already played the superior version, from both a graphical and game-play standpoint, but hey, a fan is a fan.
As with the "big" version, Lego Indy on DS covers the three original Indiana Jones films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, with each flick split into six levels, covering the various classic moments from the film, admittedly with a few liberties taken here and there for artistic or comedic value.
The main game-play and cut-scenes are shown on the top screen of the DS, with half of the touch screen showing which characters are currently available to you. The other half comes into play at various points in the game where items are used. For example, there are segments when Indy must use his whip to reach high ledges or cross gaps. In these instances, a picture of the whip will appear on the touch screen, and you must move your thumb or the stylus over it to perform the motion.
